Springwood Country Club - The Course

The course is designed to blend into the undulating terrain with subtle breaks on all greens and is interesting and challenging without being long. The course includes practice nets and fairway. The walk is very pleasant with excellent views of Sydney off the first and tenth tees when on a clear day it is possible to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There is abundant bird-life throughout the course including  King Parrots and Eastern and Crimson Rosellas which are used as a logo on club balls and shirts.  See Snapshots.

Dress and Local Rules

Members and visitors are expected to dress in a tidy manner and recognizable golf attire.  Collarless shirts, football shirts, singlets and thongs are not permitted.

Sand buckets are to be carried and used by all players and divots are to be replaced.

Buggies are not to be taken across tees or greens.

Preferred lies are normally taken on mown fairways only. Check local rules at Pro-Shop prior to hit off.

All players are requested to speed up play wherever possible. This can be achieved in many ways including:

    1. Lowest marker takes responsibility to keep their group moving.
    2. Shortest hitters hit off first.
    3. First and second hitters mark their card after hitting off.
    4. Walk quickly between shots and be ready to hit when it is your turn.
    5. Always keep up with the group ahead.
    6. Consider calling up on par 3 holes.
    7. Place buggies away from the front of the green.
    8. Assess your putt before it is your turn.
    9. Move away quickly when finished putting.

Remember a good game is a fast game.
